Twitter – Waste of Time?

Posted on 30 April 2008 by Linda Joseph

Twitter – What is it?

When I first saw this little blue bird asking me to join Twitter, I just shook my head. What next? A cow asking if I wanted to moo?

Since I am always looking at how to maximize the social networking sites, I decided to join and just watch for a while. Most people use Twitter to post meaningless sound bites about what they are doing now. There is a place for that,,, I guess.

But my time is quite precious and I don’t have time to just twitter my life away. But as I started following a few people and my creative juices kicked in and I started using this as both a social interaction as well as a marketing tool.

Will share more how I use this social networking site as well as where I got the cool Twitter image in the sidebar.

Posted on 23 April 2008 by Linda Joseph

If you have a blog and get some traffic, why not monetize some of your traffic with Adsense?

How you set up your adsense will determine how much you make.  Joel Comm is one of the leading experts in Adsense.  If you don’t have his book, get it now for only $9.95.  You will find over 200 pages of great content for setting up Adsense on your blogs and websites.

Here are my  top three tips for Adsense:

  1. Limit the number of ads per page – I limit the number of ads to 3 or 4 in order to get the best ads listed.
  2. Medium rectangles convert best – I have found that the medium rectangle, 250×250, converts the best.  You should do your own testing.
  3. Set up Channels – Channels allow you to track your conversions.  I use a channel for each ad unit.

I have just given you three tips for maximizing your adsense revenue.  Can you imagine pages of explanation on these tips?  Can you imagine what you would learn with 200 pages of content from an expert?

Make Money with Your Blog

Posted on 18 April 2008 by Linda Joseph

There are several ways to monetize your website or blog.

Today I want to discuss advertising. If you have a website or
blog that attracts traffic you can sell your products or you can sell products for others.

When you sell someone else’s product, you can do that
directly or you can do that indirectly.

Direct Selling: If you look at the blog post below, on
http://www.MyInternetTutor.com you will find a banner ad

for Virtual Smart Agent.
(You may have to scroll down the page depending when you
read this.)

I purchased this product and love it! It has increased
my sales significantly! Because I thought it was a great
investment, I talked about it on my blog.

Since I only recommend products I like and have had
success with, you won’t see a lot of direct sales on my
blog.

Indirect Selling: This is primarily done through
advertisement. One of the most popular means of
indirect selling is through a program by Google called
Adsense.

Adsense is a program that you sign up for are given some
code to add to your website or blog that allows you to
advertise products or services that are relevant to your
website or blog.
