Facebook Now Integrates with WordPress?

Posted on 14 July 2012 by Linda Joseph

How to integrate Facebook and WordPress

For several years I have used a Facebook app called ‘Networked Blog’ to publish blog posts automatically on my Facebook pages.  It has worked well.  My main beef about the app is that the same image is displayed on every post.  I would prefer to add my own unique image for each post.Facebook wordpress

Just last month Facebook rolled out ways to integrate with both site (self-hosted WordPress sites) and

There is a new WordPress plugin created to allow WordPress users to publish content to not only their WordPress blog but also their Facebook profiles or Facebook Pages.

Here is what Mashable reported:

“The plugin was built by Facebook engineers in collaboration with open source partners, and makes it simple for anyone to make their WordPress site more social – no coding required,” Facebook engineer Matt Kelly wrote in a blog post introducing the tool.

WordPress powers more than 16% of the web, and Facebook, by all appearances, wants to be the web for its more than 900 million users. So, in that context, the integration makes quite a lot of sense for both parties.

For more info, check out Mashable.

To download the plugin go to WordPress plugins.

  • Easy to setup – dashboard.
  • Post to your profile timeline when you publish a post or page
  • Mention friends and Facebook Pages
  • Post any new WordPress posts or pages to a specific Facebook page
  • Also combines like, send and subscribe buttons
  • Can add Facebook comments
  • Customizable widget
  • Activity Feed Box
  • Recommendations Box
  • Facebook Insights integration

Buyer beware: This plugin is not an easy plugin to set up.

So now I am trying ‘simple facebook connect.’  I will let you know how I like this plugin.  It seems very rich in features.
