How to Make a Professional Website Without HTML!

Posted on 24 January 2012 by Linda Joseph

Do I have to know HTML to make a professional looking website?

Answer: No

I started teaching HTML back in 2005.  By 2007 we had taught hundreds of people how to make websites with HTML.  I wrote a book on HTML: “Seven Easy Steps to HTML Success.”

Thousands of people have downloaded my free HTML ebook!

But I have to confess something, I do NOT use HTML to make my websites!

Starting in 2007 we started using WordPress for websites. About 25% of the websites we created for clients were WordPress based websites. Today, 100% of the websites we make are on the WordPress platform.

There are several reasons for this.  First of all, it is easy to create a beautifully designed website.  I have some videos in my membership site but I am too busy making sites for businesses that I haven’t been able to update them.

However, my colleague, Christina Hills (The WordPress Expert), teaches people (techie and non-techie) how to build their websites without a webmaster.

She is offering to show you  WordPress Website Design and Layout in a simple non-techie way!  Christina is an excellent teacher!  (I am very picky when it comes to instructors and Christina is awesome at taking you step by step through a process.)

3. Quick Tips
Want Free Traffic?

One of my free traffic sources is YouTube and Google Video.
Remember my advice on eBay classified ads? The same applies for
video: You need the right title and description to drive traffic to
your website.

HTML Editor

An HTML editor can save you lots of time when designing a website
or auction template. If you are going to do a lot of design then
I recommend Dreamweaver or Frontpage. If you are just starting out
and on a tight budget, the start with NVu. It is a free HTML editor
and is quite nice.

NOTE: I cover how to use an HTML editor in the
Website Design Class.

Internet Marketing Skills Test Answers Continued

Posted on 19 February 2008 by Linda Joseph

5. Sales pages are not necessary

False: If you are selling a product, you need some sort of a sales page. It could be a squeeze page, a product page, an article page, an information page, etc. The possibilities are endless! (Once you learn this you can take resale rights sales pages and make changes; even add them to eBay and turn into an auction!)
6. Download links are very difficult

False: Download links are fairly simple to set up. You will need a download link if you are going to want to offer a product or a free report. (This skill will allow you to offer resale rights products or PLR products as a download, whether the buyer comes through your web page or eBay.)

7. You have to pay a lot of upload a website
False: You can upload your web pages and products to your hosting for free! There is a very specific protocol for doing this called FTP. A search on Google will get you started.

How did you do on the test?
